Civony was the original game made by UMGE. 2 Weeks into playing Civony and having nearly 300,000 players, the developers at UMGE told players they were playing a BETA of the game, and that the real game would start soon.
Then they moved everything over to Evony and formally released the game. If you go to any of the Civony sites or links they actually redirect back to propper Evony servers.
Thankfully, they also moved over all the player’s accounts, so nothing was lost, and instead of the top of the browser saying "Civony Free Forever" it now says "Evony Free Forever". Nothing else has changed.
